The biggest benefit to cooking at home is the amount of money you can save. For the same price as a nice dinner out, you can eat for a week with home-cooked meals. Case in point: store-bought coconut butter vs. homemade coconut butter. A jar of coconut butter can easily set you back seven-plus bucks, when for just a couple of dollars you can make your own with nothing more than a bag of shredded coconut and a food processor.
That might not sound like a big deal to those of you who don't know about the wonder of coconut butter, but for everyone else that's privy to how great this stuff is spread on toast, baked into cookies, or just spooned from the jar, well, this here's for you.

That big beautiful bowl of coconut butter was made by Vanessa from Vegan Family Recipes. Not only was she kind enough to share this image with us, but she also gave us the recipe for making it at home -- on the cheap. And that's not even the best part, friends. The best part is that this recipe is easy. Stupid easy. Zero culinary skill required easy. Get it here. And live in coconut bliss.
