Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from husband Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage, the reality star confirmed to E! in a statement.
"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," she said. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
The couple began dating in December 2010. One month later, Kardashian met Humphries' parents ("It was a wonderful meeting," Humphries' rep said at the time), and the new couple stepped on the fast track to the altar. Their six-month courtship and Humphries' romantic proposal was chronicled on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," as was their elaborate August wedding, complete with a two-part special chronicling every aspect of the nuptials.
