The Mississippi primary is being held on Tuesday, and the latest polls show the race to be a tight fight between Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

In Mississippi, the final polls can't agree on a leader, though their one common finding is that Santorum appears headed for a third place finish behind Romney and Gingrich.

Also, as blogger Harry Enten points out, three of the final four polls on the Alabama Republican primary in 2008 showed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) leading former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee -- two polls showed McCain leading by fairly wide margins. Yet Huckabee defeated McCain, 41 to 37 percent.
U.S. Rep. Ron Paul's name will also be on the ballots down south.
The Magnolia State has 40 delegates, 37 of which are bound by the results of the contest. The Alabama primary and the Hawaii Caucus are also taking place on Tuesday.
