History was made today as Catherine Middleton and Prince William were married at Westminster Abbey in London.

Among the 1,900 guests were celebrities David Beckham and Elton John, who joined royalty from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to witness the nuptials. The AP reports an estimated 2 billion people worldwide watched the ceremony.

Middleton wore a white and ivory satin dress -- with a nearly nine-foot train -- designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

Take a look at some of the pictures from the ceremony.
