It's that time of year again: Thanksgiving hasn't even hit and stores are already decked out in holiday cheer. Lights are up on trees, stars are hanging from street lamps and little red cups are out in full form. We're not talking about Solo cups, but the ubiquitous Starbucks holiday cups, of course. These cups have become so highly anticipated each year there is even a website counting down their debut. The holiday cups dropped on November 6, marking the official start of Starbucks' holiday drink season.

Since you've been enjoying your Pumpkin Spice Latte since August, you're probably ready for some wintery drinks. Starbucks has got you covered with more choices than you probably care to make. Whether you're rushing to get the new Chestnut Praline Latte or running from it, Starbucks holiday drinks are pretty hard to avoid. Inevitably, you'll probably end up having one this holiday season... So which one's it gonna be?

In our humble opinion, we believe there are some obvious winners and some obvious losers (sorry, Chestnut Praline, but you're out). We don't have to tell you which drinks are good or bad, however. The Internet will do that for you. Considering the mass hysteria that broke out when Starbucks tried to take away the Eggnog Latte, and the annual sh*t storm that occurs around the Pumpkin Spice Latte (we're looking at you, Umami Burger), the general public clearly obsesses over certain holiday drinks, while leaving others out in the cold. Here's a list of all the Starbucks holiday drinks, ranked according to hype.

Starbucks Holiday Drinks In Order Of Hype
Toffee Nut Latte(01 of08)
Open Image Modal
The rich, buttery flavour of sweet toffee is combined with the warmth of toasted nuts and blended with our smooth espresso and velvety steamed milk; topped with whipped cream and Toffee Nut Sprinkles.

Haven't heard of this holiday drink? That's because this one's only on the menu in the UK, Ireland and the Philippines. (Note the extra "u" in "flavour.")

Chestnut Praline Latte(02 of08)
Open Image Modal
Espresso, steamed milk, and flavors of caramelized chestnuts and spices. Topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.

This is the first holiday season that the Chestnut Praline Latte will be available nationwide. Who's excited? No one.

Peppermint Mocha(03 of08)
Open Image Modal
Espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce and peppermint flavored syrup. Topped with sweetened whipped cream and dark chocolate curls.

This drink is good, so it's no wonder people get excited about it year after year. What's not to love about chocolate and mint together, in one caffeinated beverage? This is a holiday drink behind which we can all stand. The fact that it's not too controversial, however, makes it low on the hype totem pole, of course.

Gingerbread Latte(04 of08)
Open Image Modal
Espresso with steamed milk and gingerbread flavored syrup. Topped with spice-infused whipped cream and real molasses drizzle.

Gingerbread is one of those holiday foods that people either love or hate. Every year people seem to fall for it in this latte -- presumably because gingerbread can never be dry when it's in drink form.

Christmas Cookie Latte(05 of08)
Open Image Modal
Reminiscent of the tradition of home-baked Christmas goodies. It's a buttery, creamy latte handcrafted with a smooth shortbread cookie flavoured sauce, our bold espresso and freshly steamed milk. We then finish it off with a crown of whipped cream, shortbread cookie drizzle and butter cookie crumbles.

Damn -- this drink would have caused a huge stir were it not confined to Australia and the Philippines. The name alone would probably bring America to its knees, but the description, namely the "shortbread cookie drizzle and butter cookie crumbles," would surely light up Americans' holiday fire. It has America written all over it, so why do Australians get the Christmas Cookie Latte before us? They don't even like Starbucks!

Caramel Brulée Latte(06 of08)
Open Image Modal
Espresso with steamed milk and caramel brulée flavored sauce. Topped with sweetened whipped cream and caramel brulée topping.

This holiday drink is just a dessert disguised in a coffee cup. Sure you could say that about all of the Starbucks holiday drinks, but this one... ok fine. They're all desserts. People go pretty crazy for this one -- we're just not sure why you wouldn't rather have a REAL creme brulée with a cup of coffee on the side.

Eggnog Latte(07 of08)
Open Image Modal
Espresso with steamed eggnog and milk, topped with ground nutmeg.

The country freaked out when Starbucks tried to yank its Eggnog Latte from its national menu this year. It caused such outrage that Starbucks apologized, admitted its mistake and now Americans everywhere can now enjoy this apparently beloved beverage.

Pumpkin Spice Latte(08 of08)
Open Image Modal
Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and real pumpkin pie spices atop whipped cream.

No other holiday drink even holds a candle to the Pumpkin Spice Latte in terms of hype. It even has its own Twitter account. We know it's not technically a "holiday" drink according to Starbucks, but it's THE seasonal beverage that kicks the whole holiday season into gear (in August, yes, we know). So we're counting it, as number one.

You may as well pour the contents of your local diner’s grease trap directly into your carotid artery. This item, billed as a “kid’s drink,” is basically a gigantic glass of simple syrup: it contains no nutritional benefits and the same amount of sugar as five Hostess Twinkies. Your teeth would prefer you slept with a retainer made out of Twizzlers. Photo Credit: Starbucks

Click Here to see The Complete List of Unhealthiest Hot Starbucks DrinksEven without a whipped cream topping, this drink still has more cholesterol than a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Bacon and Cheese with a Big Mac stacked on top as garnish. That image, however, doesn’t even begin to illustrate the amount of sugar and carbs in the Eggnog Latte: this drink is so far off the charts nutritionally that if you wanted to recreate it in the form of a solid, you would have to eat a white bread sandwich slathered in bacon grease and chocolate syrup, stuffed with a cronut, and topped with a dozen crushed Dum Dum pops. Now imagine putting that mess in a blender, and slurping it up through a dark green straw. But, uh, it handles 70% of your recommended daily allowance of calcium?
