It was just six years ago when a baby-faced country singer named Taylor Swift made her Grammy Awards red carpet debut. Nominated in the Best New Artist category, Swift stepped out in this custom-made lavender silk Sandy Spika gown -- a much daintier dress than the (relatively) provocative ones she wears today.
It's almost hard to picture the queen of breakup songs sporting anything besides her signature red (or virginal white). But as we can see in this photo from the 2008 Grammy Awards, Swift has come a long way in the style department. Then again, we have quite a few old pictures stashed away that show us wearing frosty eyeshadow, super tight curls and prom-esque dresses. You gotta start somewhere, right?
Having snagged an Album of the Year nod this year for her record "Red," we'd put our money on Swift making a bold statement in red. We can't lose this bet.
