Democrats Continue Ad Blitz For Regulatory Reform (VIDEO)

One day after the Democratic National Committee went up on air with a hard-hitting ad demanding that Republicans back the president's regulatory reform proposal, a group allied with the White House and DNC is doing the same.

The progressive-leaning Americans United for Change released a spot on Tuesday titled "Elephants in the Room," laying out the argument that Republicans are doing the bidding of Wall Street lobbyists, who themselves are "trying to muddy the issue so they can keep pigging out on huge bonuses." In the backdrop there are poorly-cropped images of pigs swarming around Wall Street and Capitol Hill.

The ad is aimed at an inside-the-Beltway crowd, including the journalism world. A spokesperson for AUC said it will air on DC cable -- including MSNBC, CNN and Fox -- with $17,000 behind it.

Coming on the heels of the DNC spot, the ad reflects a ramped-up effort on the party of the Democratic Party apparatus to set the stage for Congress to finalize regulatory reform. The president, likewise, is reportedly planning on attending a bipartisan Congressional meeting on financial reform on Wednesday.
