Clinton, Conquering Pickle Jar, Laughs Off Claims Of Ill Health On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

“I don’t know why they are saying this."

During an appearance Monday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Hillary Clinton said she was unfazed by a new series of attacks questioning her health.

Allies of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, have alleged that the media have failed “to point out several signs of illness by her.”

“Go online and put down ‘Hillary Clinton illness,’ take a look at the videos for yourself,” Giuliani urged viewers on Fox News last weekend.

In good humor, Clinton asked host Jimmy Kimmel to monitor her pulse while she addressed the claims (”There’s nothing there!”), which she called part of a “wacky strategy” that’s forced her to “sort of step into the alternative reality and answer questions about am I alive.”

“I don’t know why they are saying this,” Clinton said. “I think on the one hand, it’s part of the wacky strategy ― just say all these crazy things and maybe you can get some people to believe you. On the other hand, it just absolutely makes no sense. I don’t go around questioning Donald Trump’s health.”

Clinton went on to conquer an “untampered with” pickle jar Kimmel gave her to prove her fitness.

While she claimed she wasn’t upset by such statements ― ”I don’t get upset anymore, because I’d be upset all the time” ― the former secretary of state noted such talk could hurt the country.

Kimmel also asked if Clinton would prefer to run against someone “more boring,” like Mitt Romney.

“I would prefer to be running against somebody I thought was qualified to be president and temperamentally fit,” Clinton said. “Yes, I would, absolutely.”

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
