You may have to wait until March 23rd to finally see Katniss Everdeen in action in "The Hunger Games," but here's a way to channel the post-apocalyptic heroine now. We've got the step-by-step details on recreating a chunky fishtail braid inspired by Katniss.

Apply a dime-size amount of BioSilk Silk Therapy from mid-shaft to ends. Make sure to avoid the roots. Take large sections and curl your hair around CHI Digital Orbit to create a beachy curl. Apply a dime-size amount of BioSilk Molding Silk from mid-shaft to ends to help create texture.

Using your fingers, comb your hair to one side.

Split your hair into two sections.

Hold both sections in one hand, separated by your pointer finger, then use your other hand to grab a small piece from the outside of one section.

Pull the strands over to the other half, and then take a piece from the outside of that section and braid the opposite way. What's important to keep in mind is that you only divide your hair into two sections, instead of three like a traditional braid. There's an emphasis on pulling smaller pieces.

Secure the end of the braid with a clear elastic band, then wrap a small piece of hair around to conceal.
