Wedding photographer James Simmons was recently named Australia's best photographer. One look at his impressive portfolio and it's easy to see why.

Simmons took home the award for Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photographer of the Year on September 15. In an interview with Mashable after the win, he gave a little insight into his creative process.

“I just try to do my best at the time, with what I’m given," he said. "I get inspired by location, light, personalities, relationships and then I bring all of my life experience to the plate as well. I guess the way I shoot has been a combination of the way the world has shaped my experience and how I have responded to it."
