'The Big Bang Theory' Premiere: Sheldon And Penny Bond, Until She Hurts His Feelings (VIDEO)

Sheldon And Penny Bond On 'The Big Bang Theory' Premiere

Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons, who recently nabbed his third Emmy for the role, is a unique bird. On the seventh season premiere of "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon and Penny were spending some quality time together while Leonard was on his research trip. Always an unexpected pairing, these two together are guaranteed laughs.

In an attempt to bring their relationship closer, Penny suggested that they share something secret about themselves. She started by revealing that she did a topless scene in a low-budget horror film that never got released -- don't worry, the boys found the footage almost immediately upon meeting her. Sheldon, in turn, told Penny that while he tells people he's cool with a YouTube change to its user interface, he's actually not okay with it at all.

Penny laughed it off like the ridiculous response it seemed, but it actually was a genuine attempt by Sheldon to open up to her. "I opened up and shared something deeply upsetting to me. You treated it as if it were nothing," he told her.

“I’m really sorry. I should’ve known better," Penny said. Sheldon accepted her apology, and then reluctantly accepted a hug from her as well.

Zap2It's Billy Nilles thought this was a pretty major development for the show. "Though the odd couple pairing of these two has become a hallmark of the series, the scene with the two sharing secrets seemed to be a huge step for the relationship,” he wrote. The new season is determined to explore new pairings, as it saw Bernadette and Amy spending some girl time together without Penny, as well.

Season 7 of "The Big Bang Theory" continues every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
