Donatella Versace: Why I'm In Love With New York

I have been in love with New York since my first visit as a young student working for my brother Gianni. Imagine if you came, like I did, from Reggio Calabria in southern Italy and your idea of a big city was Rome or Milan. For me, New York was like magic -- a soaring, futuristic metropolis, full of the kind of electric energy I'd seen in the films of Martin Scorsese. In fact it was, and still is, like a giant film set.
