Hanukkah 2011: The Funniest Someecards (PICTURES)

The Funniest Hanukkah Someecards For 2011
|

In celebration of the first day of Hanukkah, the folks over at Someecards have penned a new batch of e-cards to send out to Jews and non-Jews alike, poking fun at the fact that not many people realize when the holiday begins or what it's about. According to comedian Joe Mande, who showed up on "Conan" last night to remind us of the holiday's origins, Hanukkah can be summed up thusly:

Hanukkah is a holiday where were we remember the Maccabees. The Maccabees were these Jews from thousands of years ago who got locked inside the temple in downtown Jerusalem and they couldn't get out, so they were forced to ration lamp oil for a week. The end.

Whatever you make of this explanation, there's no better way to celebrate -- not to mention remind people of -- Hanukkah than sending out some hilarious e-cards. Head over to Someecards for more and make sure to vote for your favorites!
