We all know that Joan Rivers was hilarious, but most people don't know that she also loved to get down in the kitchen. It would be a stretch to say that Rivers was a chef, but from this recipe that surfaced on reddit late Thursday night, it's clear that Rivers had a lot of fun "cooking.'
She was once featured in an Irish charity cookbook, and the recipe she listed is for "Joan Rivers' Toast" -- a recipe that "had been in [her] family for generations."
It's easy to make, as the ingredients listed below are two slices of white bread and butter or margarine. Rivers also took the time to point out that in the event of a "holiday or special occasion," raisin bread could be substituted for the white bread, in which the recipe name would then change to "Joan Rivers' Holiday Toast."
The directions are simple enough, the machinery involved (a toaster) isn't hard to find, and the "dish" itself makes enough for two. Even after her death, Rivers continues to make audiences and readers everywhere laugh. We're going to go make some toast.
