Miranda Cosgrove Models Spring's Hottest Braids. Here's How To Get The Look.

From a five-strand Dutch braid to a half-up boxed fishtail bun.

Braids are always on trend. We repeat, always. But one thing we sometimes struggle with is creating braided hairstyles that are modern and versatile. Thankfully, we've got much-needed inspiration from actress/singer Miranda Cosgrove on how to sport this season's hottest braids.

The former Nickelodeon star sat down in celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa's chair and had her brunette tresses transformed by combining classic plaits like the fishtail, Dutch and halo with interesting parts. Gently loosening up each braid helped to keep the looks fresh and prevent a severe effect that would make Cosgrove appear even younger. And clear elastic bands are a nice touch, too.

Scroll down to see how Potempa styles Cosgrove's hair in three different braid styles that are sure to turn heads. Tell us: which look is your favorite?

Slick hair back into a ponytail with a boar bristle brush and a hair shine pomade like Keratin Complex Iconic Polish. Then, create a fishtail braid, making sure to leave a piece of hair out so that you can conceal your ponytail holder.

What really makes this fishtail braid hairstyle stand out (besides those gold statement earrings) is the barely-there side part. It's subtlety gives way to that gorgeous braid and really helps to open up her face.

This fishtail braid pony is one big, beautiful mess. But in a good way. If your hair is on the finer side, simply add extensions to achieve a fuller finish.

Bye-bye, boring ponytail! The placement of the fishtail braid adds just enough interest so that it doesn't compete with such an intricate dress.

Create a clean side part and add a flexible styling product before blow-drying. Smooth the roots to the ends with the Sarah Potempa Ceramic Styling Iron and Blow Out Attachments to add volume and movement to the right side. On the clean, tighter side create a Dutch French fishtail by separating hair in two pieces.
