'Revolution' Offers Up Its First Major Twist
|

After a stellar premiere that brought in 11.7 million viewers for NBC (the network's highest-rated premiere since 2005), "Revolution" returned for its second episode. It remains to be seen how many of those nearly 12 million viewers came back after sampling the premiere, but those that did witnessed one of the show's first -- and most anticipated -- twist.

Charlie's mother Rachel, played by Elizabeth Mitchell, is alive, just as many viewers and critics expected. No longer just relegated to appearances in flashbacks -- though she did that, too -- Rachel is alive and being held captive by Monroe. That makes the kidnapping of her son make a lot more sense, as Monroe wants Rachel to tell him how to turn the power back on.

Grace, the woman in the farm house who was typing away on the computer, found herself in trouble with another person who wears a necklace like the one Aaron is carrying around. Yet another person who has access to power, but this Randall seems to be bad news as Grace was none too happy to see him. She even warned whoever is on the other end of her modem connection that he'd arrived.

As for Charlie, she proved to Miles that she has the fortitude to face the dangers of this new world -- something she learned from her mother's willingness to kill for her family's food in the past. She and her uncle helped free some slaves and rescued Miles' friend Nora.

The episode also introduced the "rebellion" against Monroe, which files the familiar flag of the modern-day United States. Nora even has it tattooed on her back. What twists and turns await in future installments?

Tune in to "Revolution," Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC to find out.
