We've all received novelty gifts as holiday presents, and world travelers are no exception. Surely some "person who has everything" will find a Shake Weight in his or her stocking this year that will guarantee a secondary TSA screening during their holiday travels. Then there's the still reigning champion of novelty gifts, the Snuggie. Based on the stacks of Snuggies on display at my local drug store, plenty of adults, children, and dogs will be gifted with fleecy goodness this year.

"America's favorite blanket with sleeves" was marketed as an item that kept your arms free to use your remote control, read a book, or to help you warm at sporting events. It became an overnight pop culture phenomenon in America. When I was given a Snuggie as a Christmas gift, I was confused. What could a nomad like me do with this item symbolic of domestic coziness? So I decided to make it my traveling companion, taking it on a globe trotting adventure to 23 countries on 6 continents. Check out some highlights of my Snuggie's World Tour in the slideshow below.

Has your Snuggie traveled some place interesting? Please tell us about it in the comments section.
