Want a centerpiece that captures attention and looks different from every angle? So do lots of us. Lucky for you -- the collage centerpiece is a style that is in right now.

A collage centerpiece is created from a number of different elements that look gorgeous together. Collage centerpieces often contain elements of flowers in various containers, candles in glass or on candlesticks, and table numbers. The pieces wouldn't hold down the visual weight of the center of the table alone, but together, they create a gorgeous tablescape.

This approach is different than, say, a traditional centerpiece, which is usually one mass of flowers with candles around it. The collage is less formal while still being completely elegant and chic.

Another advantage is that guests can take away a small piece of the party with them as a momento. In fact, this style used to be called a break away centerpiece back in the day.

Here are some of my favorite examples:

Collage Floral Centerpieces

For a recent Manhattan wedding, multi-colored Callas were combined with roses to create elegant mini arrangements. Each table featured variations in height and composition of unique combinations of silver, mercury glass and tall tapers with the flowers.

For this wedding, round, square and rectangular tables were draped with custom runners piped in orange with matching chair caps. Flowers, pods and berries were all combined in a variety of containers, some leaf-wrapped, some wooden boxes, all in a pleasing palette of fall colors.
Lavender Lilacs, Iris and Hydrangeas(03 of09)

Shades of green – electric, grass and deep – were combined with brushed chrome candlesticks and various votives to create an elegant and contemporary look for this seated dinner.
