Mike Bost Defeats Bill Enjyard In Illinois House Race

Republican Mike Bost defeated Rep. Bill Enyart (D-Ill.) in Illinois' 12th congressional district on Tuesday.

The race drew the attention of both national Democrats and Republicans and was one of the most competitive in the state. Bost, a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, was on the NRCC's "On the Radar" program, which gave him resources to run a competitive campaign. Enyart was a member of the DCCC's Frontline program, which helps vulnerable Democrats defend their seats.

Bost gained attention when video of him throwing a tantrum on the floor of the Illinois House spread online. Democrats used footage of Bost's meltdown in campaign ads against him, a move that Bost said only helped his electoral chances.
