My Neighborhood Was Almost Bombed

So.... Apparently my neighborhood was recently targeted by a group of Islamic fundamentalists. There's the scary factor, sure, but at the same time, a big part of me feels it's kind of cool.

So.... Apparently my neighborhood was recently targeted by a group of Islamic fundamentalists. There's the scary factor, sure, but at the same time, a big part of me feels it's kind of cool.

I should probably explain that.

The area of New York where I live is called "Riverdale". It's an upper-middle class/wealthy neighborhood mostly filled with Orthodox Jews, so I tell people "I live in the Bronx," and they're like "Woah," and then I say "In Riverdale", and they're like "Oh." You don't get much street cred when the part of your neighborhood that isn't multi-million dollar homes on private streets is filled with really nice parks and woodland areas.

We don't have gangs. The biggest crime that tends to happen around here is your car window being broken by teenagers with nothing to do who, I guess, can't find drugs. The rest of the Bronx, there's danger. It's filled with various gangs and other people who want to end your life and steal your money. Riverdale? Nope.

But you know what Riverdale has now that they don't? Terrorists. Two points for Riverdale!
