Meet Jon Stewart's Two-Headed Political Monster: Tharley Cochangel

This Two-Headed Monster Is Everything Wrong With Washington
|

Two longtime incumbents won heated primary elections this week, and both of them -- Reps. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) and Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) -- have the same group of voters to thank: African-Americans.

Did these lawmakers deserve to win?

On Wednesday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart played a clip of Rangel showing that "like most old men, Charlie Rangel is racist." And black Democrats hit the polls for Cochran not because he's so progressive, but because his opponent, Chris McDaniel, spoke at a Neo-Confederate event and retweeted a white supremacist.

What really stands out about these two pols is not what they did individually; it's what they represent together. Watch part one above and part two below for some facts and figures about Charlie Rangel and Thad Cochran -- a.k.a. Tharley Cochangel -- that will blow your mind.
