After Burglars Stole Kids' Christmas Gifts, The Cops Did Something Amazing

Days before Christmas, a family's home was burglarized and a few police officers stepped in to help restore some holiday cheer. 

According to a Facebook post by the Fremont Police Department in California, a family's home in Fremont, a city about 40 miles from San Francisco, was burglarized on Wednesday, December 23. The family's four children's Christmas gifts were reportedly stolen. 

A group of the officer's working the midnight shift decided to chip in to buy new gifts for the children. 

"The unfortunate set of circumstances surrounding this burglary investigation touched the hearts of our officers," the Facebook message read. "They very sad to see the young children so visibly upset and knew they had to do something. Over the next several hours the midnight patrol shift put together a plan to replace the gifts."

The officers wrapped gifts for the four children and loaded their vehicle -- or "patrol sleigh" as they called it, to transport the gifts to the family.

"After briefing, they loaded up their patrol sleigh and surprised the family at their house," the post read. 

Judging by the smiling faces, it seems this family felt the Christmas cheer!
