Anna Malova was arrested Tuesday in New York, after allegedly stealing her doctor's prescription pad and writing herself a prescription for narcotic painkillers, the Long Island Press reports.

According to the report, the former Miss Russia was arrested after walking out of a pharmacy in Greenwich Village.

Fox 5-New York adds that Malova "reacted calmly" as she was arrested, and it discovered that she was charged less than 3 months ago for the exact same crime.

Interestingly, according to Russia Today, Malova is a practicing doctor in her native country, but she is not licensed to practice in the United States.

Malova has "participated in a number of beauty contests in Russia," per Russia Today.

Besides being Miss Russia in 1998, Malova also finished in the top 10 in the Miss Universe Pageant.
