Get Joan Holloway's '60s Makeup And Hair In Under 3 Minutes

We're infatuated with all things '60s, and the AMC period drama series "Mad Men" certainly gives us a retro fix. Between the tea-length dresses and the perfectly coiffed hairstyles, we'd consider trading places with Joan Holloway, Betty Francis or Peggy Olson. But the closest we'll ever get to traveling back in time is by dressing up as one of the TV characters for Halloween.

In the video above, HuffPost Live makeup artist Kari Bauce and hairstylist Cassi Hurd show us how to get Joan's "sexy, not slutty and simple, but polished" look.

Step 1: Apply bone eyeshadow across your entire lid and then a peach or rust shade inside the crease.

Step 2: Draw on a cat-eye liner. (Here's a simple tutorial.) Keep it subtle, as Joan's version isn't dramatic.

Step 3: Complete the makeup look with peach lip gloss.

Step 4: Pin curl your natural hair down before placing on a wig cap.

Step 5: Carefully place wig on top of head and secure with hair pins.

Step 5: Style wig into an updo and then swoop bangs over to one side to recreate Joan's classic look. Set with a blast of hairspray.

More retro looks we can't get enough of:
