Julianna Margulies is a consummate performer and very believable in her role as Alicia Florrick on "The Good Wife." On "Late Night," though, she revealed that she has a little professional help with this particular role. Perhaps one of the reasons fans buy her so easily as a brilliant lawyer is because Margulies' real-life husband is a lawyer.
So he helps her understand some of the legal situations Alicia finds herself in. He also has a little fun poking at the understandable fabrications in the process that must be taken for television.
"He’ll be like, ‘OK. That case would’ve taken 17 months. Not 42 minutes.'" Magulies said.
"It’s television!" Fallon responded, with Margulies adding, "We only have 42 minutes."
As television viewers have proven with shows like "The Killing" and "Murder One," they're not usually willing to stick around for a year or so waiting for a single case to be resolved.
Julianna Margulies can be seen on "The Good Wife," Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. Catch "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
