Parents Are Sharing Their Saddest Breakfasts In Response To Comedian’s Tweet

The responses are full of parents admitting how much of their daily diets consist of “unfinished kid food.”

To be a parent is to eat off your child’s plate.

I’m pretty sure most of the weight I gained as a new mom was from finishing my own meal, then eating whatever my child left behind in an effort not to waste food. But probably even worse are the times we don’t even have time to make our own food, so we desperately scarf whatever our kids didn’t eat from their meals.

Comedian and dad Patton Oswalt nailed the phenomenon this week when he tweeted the details of his breakfast:

His admission opened the floodgates for parents admitting just how often we make a sad, sad meal of our children’s leftovers, especially in the chaotic morning hours.

The responses are also full of parents admitting how much of their daily diets consist of “unfinished kid food.”

So there you have it: Parenting is cooking something for someone who doesn’t want it and then being forced to eat it. Also, can we make “kinderleavings” a thing?
