Baby's first words are always special. But, two-year-old Bronte Cassell's go beyond momentous. She spoke for the first time at the age of two.

The little girl from South Yorkshire, England was born premature at 25 weeks and weighed only one pound, 12 oz. According to BBC news, medical complications meant she needed a breathing tube in her throat when her windpipe narrowed at six months. Doctors saved her life, but took her voice. For two years she communicated by mouthing words, using sign language or pointing.

Recently, the tubes were removed and Bronte spoke for the first time.

"I love you daddy," she said to her father Martin.

Then, to mom Hellen, "I love you, mummy."

"It's been a long time in the waiting but more than worth it to hear those wonderful words," Hellen told the Daily Mail.

Martin said Bronte's voice has given her a newfound freedom; it's taught their family to appreciate everyday moments even more:

She can learn to potty train, wash her hair without worrying about getting the tube wet and enjoy playing with her older brother Noah ... They are just little things really in the grand scale of things but they will make a massive difference to her quality of life.
