These Photos Of Obama's Snow Day With Sasha And Malia Are Pure Magic

Perhaps feeling a bit nostalgic as Barack Obama nears the end of his term as president, White House photographer Pete Souza shared a couple of throwback images of Obama and his daughters playing in the snow on Instagram late Tuesday, along with a sweet story.

He wrote, “People are always asking me to choose my favorite picture of the President. But I just can’t do it. So let me tell you about my favorite day. It was a Saturday in February 2010. Washington was under siege with snow. I slept in my office overnight, knowing I probably couldn’t drive to the White House the next day. And then I guessed...and yes, hoped...that the President of the United States would be a dad and play with his girls in the snow. And he did.”

The photos, from 2010, show POTUS frolicking in the snow with his daughters, Sasha and Malia, then 8 and 11, making snow angels, and being bombarded with snowballs.

It’s a sweet reminder that Obama has always valued his role as a father just as much as his role as president.
