Seth Meyers: 'America Is Both Among, And In, Deep S**t'

When news outlets are clarifying Sean Spicer's proximity to bushes, you know things aren't going well.

“Late Night” host Seth Meyers could not get enough of the recent Washington Post report that said White House press secretary Sean Spicer hid behind bushes to avoid talking to the press the night FBI Director James Comey was fired.

After news broke Tuesday that President Donald Trump had fired Comey, the Post reported that Spicer huddled with staff “in” the bushes. The paper later “corrected” its report to indicate that Spicer was hiding “among” the bushes, presumably after someone in the White House complained about the way the article first characterized the press secretary’s position.

“When the White House is clarifying the press secretary’s position in relation to bushes, it’s important to remember America is both among, and in, deep shit,” Meyers said on his show Thursday.
