On TLC's "America's Worst Tattoos," viewers met a woman named Lizz who used to work at a tattoo parlor, where she let a co-worker practice his portrait work on her.

And what did she get for her generosity? A Steve Buscemi tattoo.

"When I saw it, I wanted to pretty much just get a new ankle at that point," Lizz said. "He ended up quitting."

Lizz even got broken up with over her Steve Buscemi tattoo. "Someone I was seeing actually ended up dumping me over the tattoo," she said. "He couldn't even look at me anymore."

In the end, the "America's Worst Tattoo" artist was able to turn the image of the "Boardwalk Empire" star into a mermaid, at Lizz's request. At least she didn't get a mermaid with Steve Buscemeyes.

"America's Worst Tattoo" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
