Will somebody cast Anjelica Huston on "Downton Abbey"? The Oscar winner really wants to be on the Masterpiece hit.
"I love 'Downton,'" Huston told USA Today. "I was raised in Ireland and England so I could pop into a part. Somebody like the Countess Markievicz [an Irish rebel], who they mentioned last season. Maybe I could make a guest appearance."
Huston, who recently starred in "Smash" for two seasons on NBC, is making the rounds promoting her memoir, "A Story Lately Told."
On "Live! With Kelly and Michael," host Kelly Ripa asked Huston about the rumors. "This is a pot that I've been stirring," Huston said. "I'm a huge fan of 'Downton Abbey,'" she said. "Just give me a hat and I'll go on there!"
Huston wouldn't be the first American to join the cast. Both Shirley MacLaine and Paul Giamatti will appear in Season 4 of the hit period drama.
"Downton Abbey" returns to PBS on Sunday, January 5.
