In an attempt to further shock and confuse the world, Eminem turned 40 today.
The rapper, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, released his first solo album, "Infinite," in 1996. Three years later, at the age of 26, Eminem released "The Slim Shady LP," skyrocketing his career and expanding the definition of hip-hop.
Since "The Slim Shady LP," Em has made five studio albums with plans to release another in 2013. Over the course of his now 40 years Eminem has won thirteen Grammy awards, been crowned "The Best Rapper Alive" by "Vibe," and selected for "The Immortals," a list made by "Rolling Stone" of "fifty of the greatest rock & roll artists of all time."
2012 also serves as the 10th anniversary of "8 Mile," the film that starred Eminem and closely resembled parts of his life.
In celebration, HuffPost asked fans for their favorite Eminem lyrics, compiled below.
