The mid-tempo track has Kelis singing, "When I was a girl, my daddy was my world / He played the notes and keys / He said to look for melody in everything."

Born Kelis Rogers, the singer will release her sixth studio album later this year. Expected to be called "FOOD," the album is hyped for a September release, with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek producing. Kelis released her last album, "Flesh Tone," in 2010.

The singer took to Twitter to announce the completion of her album last week.

"I'm sort of midway I guess," Kelis told NME about her recent music. "It's exciting though, it's more electro, it's a little deeper and darker."
