'Last Jedi' Director Reveals The First Word Uttered In The Film

Hint: It's a two-for-one deal!

What is the first line in the upcoming “Star Wars” film? That we don’t know. But we do know the first word, thanks to director Rian Johnson.

On Friday, the entire cast of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and the host tried to get every possible morsel of information out of Johnson. And after some prodding, Kimmel finally uncovered something.

“What is the first word in the film?” he asked.

“This I can do,” Johnson replied. “The first word is ‘we’re.’”

What a deal! Kimmel asked for the first word, and we get a contraction. Two-for-one!

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” hits theaters Dec. 15 and it’s a safe bet there are plenty more words where that came from.
