See J.K. Simmons Woo Susan Sarandon With A Bunch Of Chickens In This Clip From 'The Meddler'

The new movie, co-starring Rose Byrne, opens April 22.

In "The Meddler," Susan Sarandon plays Marnie, a widow who doesn't want to date. After devoting herself to her husband for so long, she doesn't know how. But when Marnie movies to Los Angeles to be near interfere in the life of her TV-writer daughter (Rose Byrne), she finds herself smitten with Zipper, a sweet ex-cop (J.K. Simmons) who tends to chickens and rides a motorcycle.

The Huffington Post has an exclusive clip in which Zipper affectionately introduces Marnie to his coop. "You can see that Marnie spent so much time thinking of ways to make her husband happy, and then suddenly he’s gone," Sarandon told HuffPost while discussing the movie. "And then where do you put that energy?" Into Zipper, of course. Who wouldn't be charmed?

"The Meddler," written and directed by Lorene Scafaria ("Seeking a Friend for the End of the World"), opens April 22.
