It was a tough night for "American Hustle" at Sunday's 2014 Oscars as the glitzy film ended the night without a single statue.
"American Hustle" was nominated for a total of 10 awards: Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role for Christian Bale, Actress in a Leading Role for Amy Adams, Actor in a Supporting Role for Bradley Cooper, Actress in a Supporting Role for Jennifer Lawrence, Costume Design for Michael Wilkinson, Best Director for David O. Russell, Best Film Editing, and Best Production Design.
The star-studded film was beat out by the Best Picture-winning "12 Years a Slave," Cate Blanchett who took Best Actress for "Blue Jasmine" and Matthew McConaughey who won Best Actor for "Dallas Buyers Club."
The 10 nominations for "American Hustle" without a win is close to the record for the Academy. "The Turning Point" [1977] was up for 11 Oscars without winning a single award, as was 1985's "The Color Purple."
