Forget the Brat Pack era's "Breakfast Club," the Eggo gang just got injected with a full helping of sophistication -- or almost did. Hollywood moms, Alison Sweeney, Ali Landry, Denise Richards, Lisa Rinna, Candace Cameron Bure, Brooke Burke and Nancy O’Dell have been meeting once a month for a casual supper club. But now the polite private party is apparently over, due to the greed of Ali Landry and Alison Sweeney.
“We all discussed the idea of doing a show around our supper club,” one of the ladies tells me. “We had a meeting scheduled in early January of this year to go meet with a producer that Ali Sweeney wanted us to meet with, and that morning they cancelled and said they would reschedule when we could all get our schedules to coincide. That’s the last I heard of it. Then Ali and Ali went behind our backs and sold it with the producer to the TV Guide Network.”
"Hollywood Mom’s Club," which Landry describes to US Weekly as "a hybrid of a talk show, but some reality as well," is scheduled to air in November.
“I think it’s just the most awful thing women can do -- not to be supportive and trusting of each other,” an insider tells me. “We need to have each other's backs and that is what we all thought this intimate group was about. This is an injustice amongst friends and Ali and Ali should be ashamed of themselves. It’s a violation of the girl trust code.”
Now Sweeney and Landry are scrambling, presenting members of the group they cut out with different offers to appear in episodes, but so far the response has not been positive.
“I would never do the show unless we were all to agree to do it,” one original member of the supper club tells me. “To me it is best kept the way we had it in the first place -- private.”
