The past five years haven't been the easiest on actor and singer Joe Jonas. After the immensely popular Jonas Brothers went on a hiatus in 2011, Joe released the somewhat unsuccessful solo album Fastlive. Even more so, the fifth Jonas Brothers album never got of the ground, leading to the pop band's eventual split in 2013. With expectations looming Joe struggled to find his musical footing. "Afterwards, I thought it was cool but not really me," Jonas says about what he was writing at the time. The song Cake By The Ocean and the following formation of DNCE changed everything. "It's a wacky song that represents who we are as a band. We're just a bunch of crazy kids having fun."
