From protecting the president of the United States to pushing locker room deodorant sprays?

Kiefer Sutherland (of "24" fame) is the star of a new Axe commercial, and while the spot is a vast improvement over the company's usual ads (in which beautiful women attack any man who wears their spray), some are wondering if appearing in the video was a good move for the actor.

While shilling products is not the most credible way to make money, it's a long-standing tradition in Hollywood. George Clooney is famous for starring in tacky advertisements overseas, a practice he explains by saying the cash they bring in allows him to be very selective about movie roles.

Watch the commercial below and let us know what you think in the comments. The ad has a bit of an "Inception" feel to it, with special effects-laden vignettes of a certain woman from Sutherland's past flashing by as the actor dramatically explains why he was too intimidated to ask her out. Now, he says, he would do things differently. (Read: He would adorn himself with the fragrance of high school locker rooms.)
