My girlfriends would not rest till I said yes to Fifty Shades of Grey. They were relentless; no excuse, however long their legs were (and believe me I tried), was good enough for them and therefore I conceded.

Not having read the book and not knowing what to expect, I joined them with trepidation. This was going to be an "erotic experience," I was promised.

"Okay," I said nervously, not that I was looking for erotica.

I must confess that I have not laughed this much in a long time as I did watching the movie. This wasn't just a nervous laugh but non-stop, full-blown belly laughter. There is something so irresistibly funny about watching unbridled passion play out publicly that I could not contain my hysteria. I had the same inane influence on my girlfriends the minute I peered at them piercingly. Luckily our thick mufflers provided much needed cover and lived up to their names when we stuffed them in our mouths to dim out the din because the lovely ladies around us, breathing in every luscious love scene, were displeased with our lapses.
