Goodie Mob is back with a new single.
The Southern hip-hop group released "Special Education" on Tuesday, a collaboration with Janelle Monáe. The 27-year-old singer takes the hook for the track, lending her vocals to the Atlanta vibe Goodie Mob is known for -- take a listen above.
Cee-Lo's distinctive voice can be heard halfway through the track, rapping "Scientists stood around in silence as I was being born / was I quote unquote special, or was there something wrong? / My skin was black, my heart was gold, and my tongue was silver / and the fact that I could talk already, that was a thriller."
Made up of rappers Cee-Lo, Big Gipp, Khujo, and T-Mo, Goodie Mob will be releasing a new album on August 27, Cee-Lo announced this week. The forthcoming "Age Against the Machine" album will be the group's first studio album with all four members since 1999 when "World Party" hit stores. In 2004, the three other members released an album called "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show."
Cee-Lo also announced that he will continue his busy schedule by returning as a judge to the talent competition "The Voice," as well as releasing another solo album, and a new album with Danger Mouse as Gnarls Barkley.
