Watch out, "Good Wife" fans: Alicia's tree-hugging mom is headed to the CBS drama!

According to EW, "West Wing" alum Stockard Channing has been cast as Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) mom, described as "mercurial and influenced by her 1960s counterculture youth." Channing will appear in one episode of the upcoming season.

In addition to "The West Wing," Channing's other TV appearances include "Batman Beyond" and "Out of Practice."

In other casting news...

"Family Tree" gets a cast. Christopher Guest has officially enlisted Fred Willard, Michael McKean and Ed Begley Jr. to star on his new documentary-style series. [THR]

Bernadette Peters is on her way back to "Smash."
Ivy's (Megan Hilty) mom will return to the NBC show as another Season 2 guest star. As for what trouble she'll brew up this time around, executive producer John Safran is keeping quiet. [Vulture]

Jane Kaczmarek is headed to "The Middle."
The "Malcolm In The Middle" alum will guest star on the ABC sitcom as Frankie's (Patricia Heaton) teacher. [THR]

"Once Upon A Time" nabs a "Pretty Little Liar."
Annabeth Gish has been tapped to play Anita in a Season 2 episode of ABC series. Her character is described as a "charismatic, beautiful and mysterious leader of a pack of humans who -- like Red -- turn out to be wolves." [EW]
