The First 'Suicide Squad' Trailer Is Here And It's Super Creepy

UPDATE: Warner Bros. has just released the official trailer, so you can now watch it in all its HD glory.

The first trailer for "Suicide Squad" is here and it's just as dark and creepy as you'd imagine.

The three-minute clip leaked on Saturday following the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con (which means you should watch it before it's gone!). In it, we catch shots of all the main characters in action -- Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Will Smith's Deadshot, and of course, Jared Leto's Joker, aka the most anticipated character in the film.

Glimpses of Leto's Joker have surfaced online before, but not to this extent. A short video of the actor arguing in character with Harley Quinn hit the Internet in May, but featured no sound.

The iconic villain, previously played by both Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, got quite the makeover for the film -- which didn't sit too well with everyone. Plenty of people criticized the character's new look, which consists of creepy tattoos and dirty-looking grills. But both Nicholson and Ledger are tough acts to follow, so the drastic change makes sense (in our humble opinion).

We'll just have to see if Leto can live up to the hype.

"Suicide Squad" opens Aug. 5, 2016.
