Well, that's what you call a shocker. Despite having the lowest scores on the leaderboard, Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy managed to escape this week's devastating dance duel. Instead, Jaleel White and Roshon Fegan were sent into the duel, and sadly, only one-half of this epic bromance survived.
After an intense rumba duel, Jaleel White and his partner Kym Johnson were eliminated. But it wasn't an easy decision. "Side-by-side, you guys are pretty much equal," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba. However, when it came down to making the final verdict, all three judges were unanimous in their decisions to save Fegan.
At least White got in one last dig at head judge Len Goodman before leaving the ballroom. "Len is the old guy outside the grocery store who won't give a kid any money for candy," he said.
As for the others, Cuban heartthrob William Levy and his partner Cheryl Burke were the first couple to be saved, after proving to the judges that he's more than just a pretty face with an emotional Viennese Waltz. Football star Donald Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were also safe, and despite a bit of an anxious wait, opera singer Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas joined Levy and Driver in the safe circle.
Leaderboard frontrunners Maria Menounos and Derek Hough were unsurprisingly safe. Before entering the duel, White jokingly revealed what he did after receiving his less-than-stellar scores Monday: "I ate cheesecake last night like a divorced mother of three." Looks like he'll need to order more cheesecake.
The first ever Ballroom Battle Trophy -- the online amateur dance competition that pitted a few of the pros against one another -- was given to Cheryl Burke's team, after some confusing deliberation from the judges. It seemed that the judges didn't get the memo that they would only have seconds to choose a winner, but when Goodman cried foul, host Tom Bergeron replied, "Life's a bitch."
After this week's elimination, perhaps White and Johnson are thinking the same thing.
"Dancing With the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

CORRECTION: An earlier image caption on this story incorrectly stated that Melissa Gilbert was eliminated from the competition. In fact, it was Jaleel White who was eliminated. We're just as shocked as you are. In addition, Donald Driver was referred to incorrectly as a "former" football star -- he is still a football star.
