In Eerie Coincidence, 'Simpsons' Premiere Mentions Arnold Palmer A Lot

Thanks for doing the honors, Homer and Marge.

Leave it to “The Simpsons” to unintentionally pay tribute to Arnold Palmer on the night of his death.

By sheer coincidence the season premiere Sunday mentioned the golf great’s name several times amid the news that he passed away at age 87, news outlets noted.

In the exchange (above), Homer tells Marge that he and Carl are going to fill Super Soakers with lemonade and iced tea and spray Lenny. “We’re gonna Arnold Palmer Lenny when he walks in,” he says.

“Arnold Palmer Lenny,” Marge responds. “You’re going to Arnold Palmer Lenny?”

Homer then explains that an “Arnold Palmer” is a combination of lemonade and iced tea that was the signature drink of the golf legend.
