One of the most fondly remembered vignettes from the music video era was Paula Abdul's duet with the animated MC Skat Kat on "Opposites Attract." The feline rapper went on to have his own album, but quickly faded from the spotlight, if not the memories of an entire generation. But on this week's results episode of "Dancing With the Stars," the pair reunited.
Abdul gave a high-energy performance that was a medley of her greatest hits, including this #1 duet. And for that portion of the performance. MC Skat Kat appeared on the stage to perform it with her. Sure, his image was just a flat projection on the ground, thus lacking the interactive energy of the music video, but just seeing him there was enough to raise the energy in the room.
"I think this is technically one of the coolest things we've all pulled off here," Tom Bergeron said of the performance called "one of the highlights of the night" by HuffPost TV.
"Dancing With the Stars" has its season finale next week on Monday at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
