Charlie Sheen is, if anything, savvy.

His initial antics caused his celebrity status to skyrocket (even if his sanity took a tumble) and he did not hide from the limelight--he embraced it.

On Thursday, he’ll be a guest on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show," the "Today" show on Friday and Wendy Williams's talk show on September 19.

Sheen opened up to "Today" anchor Matt Lauer and gave a lose explanation for his scheduled appearances.

“I couldn’t really put the fire out. I don’t know, the tiger blood… it was so silly and people took it so seriously and I figured, alright, I’ll continue to give the people what they want, you know?”

The actor also answered another question, that he is “absolutely” sober.

Lauer asked him when the last time he was under the influence and he replied, “I don’t really keep track of the time. It’s been awhile, because I feel like, without getting into my feelings about AA and all that stuff, if you’re walking around hanging on to your time, it’s only a matter of time before it goes, you know?”
