"Twin Peaks" won't be revived ... at least on NBC.
Internet reports have swirled about a possible meeting between "Twin Peaks" co-creator David Lynch and NBC brass about reviving the show, picking up 25 years after the series ended.
However, a source close to the situation told The Huffington Post that no such meeting took place between NBC and Lynch.
Co-creator Mark Frost seemed to light the fire in regards to a revival when he told "Sci-Fi Now" magazine that bringing "Twin Peaks" back is “something we talk about from time to time," Moviehole quotes Frost as saying. "If we ever do decide to move forward, I know we have a rich trove to draw from.”
Frost took to Twitter to coyly quash the rumors.
"Twin Peaks" originally ran for two seasons on ABC from 1990-1991. The show was a critical hit in its first season, but ratings began to decline for Season 2. The show was shelved, but brought back to finish Season 2 following fan outcry. Since it wrapped, "Twin Peaks" has developed a cult following, gaining new life and new viewers thanks to Netflix.
