The "Duck Dynasty" season finale not only shattered ratings records for A&E, but it beat many broadcast shows in total viewers and key demographics.

In total, 6.5 million viewers watched the Season 2 finale with 3.9 million adults tuning in in the 18-49 demographic on Wednesday, December 5. It was the most-watched show in A&E's history.

"'Duck Dynasty' represents the best of A&E's unique brand of storytelling, showcasing authentic and engaging characters," said Bob DeBitetto, president and general manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel, said in a statement. "It's extremely gratifying to see more and more viewers flocking to the series week after week."
