Coming Soon: The Inevitable Lance Armstrong Movie

Because, of course: According to Deadline.com, disgraced cyclist and self-proclaimed former "bully" Lance Armstrong will see his fall from grace play out on the big screen.

The film, produced by J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures, will be based on New York Times reporter Juliet Macur's upcoming book "Cycle Of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong."

This isn't the first time Armstrong's life has been the subject of a planned movie. As Deadline.com reported way back in 2006, Sony was putting a project together about Armstrong's life with Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star. Much has changed for Armstrong since then, however -- notably the revelation that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win all seven of his Tour de France titles -- and the film was never completed.

Whether or not this Lance Armstrong movie happens remains to be seen, but the doubt doesn't mean idle speculation about who would star as Armstrong can't occur. Ahead, 13 actors who could play Armstrong. Disagree in the comments section.

McConaughey has been on a career renaissance of late (the McConaissance, as he told HuffPost Entertainment), and this is the type of juicy leading role that could get him an Oscar. Since he's friends with Armstrong, however, maybe put the odds of this happening at Infinity-to-1. (credit:AP)
